At present the Academy includes:
The Academy's profile includes undergraduate and postgraduate full-time, part-time education and extramural (by correspondence) learning. The training period for a 'Specialist' Diploma in Jurisprudence varies from 5 (full-time studies) to 6 years (part-time and extra-mural studies). Specialisations: Civil Law, Constitutional (State) Law, Criminal Law, Private International Law, Public International Law, Forensic Expertise.
Today Moscow State Law Academy named after O.E. Kutafin is one of the largest law schools in Russia. The Academy's history goes back to December 1931 when the Government made a decision to widen legal higher education, and the Ministry of Justice issued Regulations on extra-mural law courses which eventually developed into All-Union Extra-Mural Law Institute in 1937. In 1990 it became Moscow Law Institute with full-time studies and in June 1993 the Institute was renamed as Moscow State Law Academy.
